The 2021 Party and Executive Work Conference of Shanghai International Group (SIG) took place on January 29. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted the conference and delivered a speech. Liu Xinyi, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG, delivered the business work report. Wu Jun, Member of the CPC SIG Committee, Secretary for the Discipline Inspection Commission, Commissioner of the Shanghai Municipal Supervisory Commission in SIG and Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, delivered the work report of the CPC SIG Committee. Present were members of SIG's leading body, SIG's executives above the assistant level, SIG's full-time board directors and supervisors, SIG's dispatched executives and heads of the CYL SIG Committee, as well as heads of Sailing Capital, Shanghai Sci-tech Capital, GP Capital, Guohe Capital and Growth FoF.

2020 is an unusual year for SIG's development. Facing the severe test from Covid-19 and the complex domestic and foreign environments, guided by Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, SIG comprehensively implemented the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, as well as the spirit of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, firmly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, as well as the CPC Committee and Discipline Inspection Commission of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, advanced epidemic control and corporate development in a coordinated manner, performed key tasks such as financial holding group building, state-owned platform function deepening and investment management upgradation, continued to intensify reform and innovation, effectively coped with various risks and challenges, kept enhancing development strength, achieved new breakthroughs and results in business development, achieved a record profit, fulfilled the annual important tasks, and showed its sense of responsibility for serving municipal economic development and the state-owned assets and enterprise reform.

As of late 2020, SIG registered total assets of 246.659 billion yuan (unaudited, same below) and net assets of 168.218 billion yuan according to consolidated statements, with an asset-liability ratio of 31.80 percent. In 2020, SIG achieved a record total profit of 13.181 billion yuan, up 6.781 billion yuan from 2019; and turned over revenues of 4.385 billion yuan from state-owned capital operations.

2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China, the opening year of the fourteenth five-year period, the 40th anniversary of SIG and a key year for SIG to implement the three-year action plan for strategic development. At a new historical starting point, facing major changes unseen in a century, we must hold fast to our strategic orientation, think and plan business development in the context of Shanghai's reform and development, comprehensively advance financial holding group building, stabilize our primary business, build our strategic advantage, fully enhance our core competitiveness, and endeavor to open up a new prospect for the high-quality development of SIG during building a Chinese top financial holding group with international vision and influence, as well as a state-owned capital investment operation and assets management platform.

The conference required that SIG should hold fast to four work bases and serve the overall development interests of Shanghai as a municipal state-owned enterprise, show the vigor of fighting and sprinting from the beginning, focus on primary work such as active investment, financial holding group building, risk control, reform and innovation, digital transformation and grass-roots Party building, make early arrangements, advance work quickly and seek breakthroughs. SIG should create a strong atmosphere of competing, learning, catching up and overtaking, enhance the awareness of benchmarking, the concept of learning, the sense of responsibility and the consciousness of innovation, push forward the fulfillment of tasks and the implementation of measures with extraordinary spirit, vigor and responsibility, further advance the reform and opening-up of SIG and achieve a new breakthrough in innovative development.

The conference stressed that SIG's departments and subsidiaries should convey and implement the spirit of the conference, work out and decompose annual targets and tasks as soon as possible based on their actualities; should fulfill the work at the turn of the year, carry out activities of helping the poor and delivering warmth, and care for needy Party members and people; should ensure work safety and duty attendance during holidays and festivals, to prevent the occurrence of safety accidents; and should not relax efforts on epidemic control and take protective measures to ensure the health and safety of employees. Party members and officials at all levels, especially leaders, should seriously implement the spirit of the eight regulations of the CPC Central Committee to create a clean and upright festival atmosphere.
