According to the plan of Shanghai International Group (SIG) for four histories learning and education, as well as the schedule of the Central Group of the CPC SIG Committee for ideological studies in 2020, the CPC SIG Committee held a workshop of the Central Group on the morning of December 31. Quan Heng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Full-time Vice President and Research Fellow of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations, was invited to give a lecture entitled Learning the History of the People's Republic of China, Accelerating the Realization of the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted the workshop. SIG's leaders, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of SIG, executives of the CPC SIG Committee, secretaries of SIG's grass-roots (general) Party branches and all employees of SIG's headquarters attended the workshop.

With rich historical records, vivid cases and detailed data, from the perspectives of sticking to China's development path and following the historical law of national rejuvenation, recognizing the two miracles worked in the past 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, adhering to and implementing new concepts more consciously, and striving to fulfill the Chinese dream, he made clear the economic context of the People's Republic of China over the 70 years in simple terms, interpreted and analyzed the rich connotation of Xi Jinping's economic thought. His lecture effectively guided the attendees in recognizing and following the historical law.

Yu noted that 2021 marks the opening year of the fourteenth five-year period and a key year for SIG to implement the three-year action plan for strategic development. Guided by Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, SIG should strengthen the analysis and study of the current international situation and China's tasks of advancing domestic reform and development and ensuring stability, further enhance the sense of urgency for promoting the high-quality development of SIG, and accelerate reform and innovation with greater responsibility, so as to embrace the centenary of the Communist Party of China with outstanding results
