To learn, publicize and implement the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee, according to the annual study plan of the Central Group of the CPC SIG Committee, a workshop of the Central Group of the CPC SIG Committee took place on the morning of November 13. Zhang Daogen, Member of the Presentation Group on the Spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee and former President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, was invited to give a lecture on the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee.

Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted the workshop. SIG's leaders, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of SIG, executives of the CPC SIG Committee, secretaries of SIG's grass-roots (general) Party branches and all employees of SIG's headquarters attended the workshop.

With focus on three aspects: Understanding profound changes in domestic and foreign development environment is the perquisite for working out a medium & long-term development plan; understanding the judgment that China is still in an important period of strategic opportunity is the important strategic basis of setting major goals; understanding the overall and strategic significance of accelerating the creation of a new development pattern is the major strategic plan for implementing the new development concept at the new stage, Zhang interpreted the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee, and expounded the major realistic significance and far-reaching historical influence of the session. The lecture guided the attendees in accurately grasping the vision of basically realizing socialist modernization by 2035, as well as the guidelines, principles, primary goals and key tasks of economic and social development in the fourteenth five-year period.

Yu stressed that SIG's Party organizations at all levels should enhance their political stance, learn and comprehend the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee; should take learning, publicizing and implementing the spirit as an important political task at present and for a period to come, accurately grasp the country's major strategic arrangements for implementing the fourteenth five-year overall development plan, and accurately grasp the core essence of the new development stage, the new development concept and the new development pattern; should closely integrate learning the spirit of the session with learning and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Shanghai, the spirit of his important speech at the Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Development and Opening-up of Pudong, as well as the spirit of his keynote speech at the 3rd China International Import Expo, unify thought and deepen understanding, to ensure the full implementation of the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee in SIG; should implement the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of 19th CPC Central Committee in light of SIG's actualities; and should formulate SIG's fourteenth five-year plan and new-round three-year action plan, finish year-end work and plan for the work next year, improve the capability of guiding reform and development by Party building, intensify reform and innovation, work hard and steadily advance financial holding group application and building, to achieve a new leap at a new historical starting point.
