On the afternoon of September 8, the Shanghai State-owned Assets and Enterprise Innovation Development Conference & Summit took place at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, with the theme Strengthening Primary Business, Improving Business Types. The conference is aimed to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's instruction that enterprises should focus on their primary business without distractions, and further improve the innovation power of the state-owned economy to accomplish higher-quality sustainable development. Chen Yin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Ma Chunlei, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, hosted the conference. Bai Tinghui, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Director of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SHSASAC), introduced the primary business and innovation development of municipal state-owned enterprises, and interpreted the measures for primary business management and the guiding opinions on implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development.
Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Liu Xinyi, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG; and Zhou Lei, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of SIG attended the conference. Yu signed a letter of responsibility for innovation with SHSASAC (2020-2022). The signing of the letter that clarifies the innovation mission and responsibility in a contractual way is intended to better highlight the mechanism of innovation-driven development, further strengthen primary business, improve business types and make practical innovation, promote the high-quality development of enterprises, and organically integrate enterprise innovation and transformation with national strategy implementation. SIG will perform its innovation mission and responsibility, rely on major innovation projects and innovation talents, organize the implementation of the innovation strategy, and intensify innovation investment and brand building, to serve the integrated development of Shanghai Fintech Center and Shanghai Technology Innovation Center.
