To comprehensively implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SHSASAC) for strengthening work safety, further enhance the awareness of work safety and implement the system of work safety responsibility, Shanghai International Group (SIG) organized a collective study of the central group on work safety on the morning of December 17. Present were SIG's leaders, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of SIG, as well as heads of SIG's departments and subsidiaries.

The attendees learned General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statement on work safety, conveyed the spirit of the work conference of the SHSASAC system on emergency duty attendance, and watched an educational film on work safety accidents.

Liu Xinyi, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG, noted that the CPC SIG Committee and the Administrative Department of SIG have attached great importance to work safety, and advanced the work in a steady and orderly manner. He raised requirements for next-step work: Firstly, SIG should continue to ensure work safety steadily, practice the system of "same responsibility for the Party and the government, two duties for one post", strengthen the inspection, supervision and management of projects in progress, property companies, hotels and other key areas, and coordinate the protection of personnel safety, material safety and technology-based safety; secondly, SIG should take preventive measures early, establish the concept that "potential hazards are accidents", strengthen inspection to eliminate potential hazards, and improve the work safety system; lastly, SIG should tighten epidemic control, grasp the dynamic changes of the epidemic, and continue to advance epidemic prevention and control.

Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, stressed that SIG should practically enhance political awareness, overall awareness and the sense of responsibility, act initiatively and perform duties, to ensure work safety practically. Firstly, SIG should learn the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statement on work safety, and the spirit of the meetings and documents of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, as well as the CPC Committee and Discipline Inspection Commission of SHSASAC, firmly establish the concept of work safety, and seriously implement the spirit and concept in light of SIG's actualities; secondly, SIG should enhance the sense of responsibility, and implement the measures and plans for work safety in a refined and practical manner; lastly, SIG should keep improving in practice based on the outcomes of the evaluation, inspection and institutional building of work safety this year, to consolidate the foundation of work safety. SIG should continue to work on epidemic prevention and control, implement work measures in a practical and refined manner, and stay prudent to ensure work safety at the turn of the years.
