According to the annual schedule of the Central Group of the CPC SIG Committee on Theoretical Study, and the requirements of SIG's implementation plan for "four histories" learning and education, the CPC SIG Committee organized a central group workshop on "four histories" learning and education on the morning of September 30, inviting Prof. Wang Gonglong, Executive Dean of the School of Marxism, Shanghai Party Institute of CCP and a member of the "Four Histories" Expert Presentation Group of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, to give a lecture entitled "Tortuous Development of international Socialism and Enlightenment". Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted the workshop. SIG's leaders, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of SIG, executives of the CPC SIG Committee, secretaries of SIG's grass-roots (general) Party branches and all employees of SIG's headquarters attended the workshop.

Based on rich historical records, vivid cases and mass research findings, from three perspectives (the history of socialist development is the spiritual wealth of communists; socialism is a history of tortuous development; understanding the contemporary enlightenment of the history of socialist development), from the world to China, from ideality to reality, from theory to practice, he interpreted the development history of international socialism, elaborated on the development history of Chinese socialism, specified that the development history of socialism is the "textbook" for consolidating the Marxism belief, the "compass" for firming up the faith in socialism with Chinese characteristics and the "nutrient" boosting the confidence in fulfilling the Chinese dream, and systematically expounded the exploratory experience and experiential enlightenment of the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Yu noted that through the study of the development history of socialism, Party members, executives and employees in the SIG system should further enhance their understanding of the development features and practical essence of socialism, consolidate the foundation of belief, supplement spiritual nutrients and stabilize ideology. Party organizations at all levels, leaders, executives and Party members should learn and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statement on "four histories" learning and education, unify thought and action with the new outcomes of adapting Marxism to China's conditions, further enhance "four consciousnesses", firm up "four confidences" and manage "two maintenances", fulfill SIG's annual work tasks and the tasks set in SIG's three-year plan with greater responsibility based on actual work, implement the goals proposed at the SIG Party Member Congress and promote the high-quality development of SIG.
