2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and a crucial year for winning the fight against poverty. Under the leadership of Shanghai International Group, Shanghai State-owned Assets Management has never forgotten its original intention and always keeps its mission in mind. Taking targeted poverty alleviation as one of its key tasks, the company has adapted measures according to time, place and village, explored appropriate ways of support and responded to the key needs of poverty alleviation.
In the “Double-hundred” Targeted Poverty Alleviation with village enterprises, the paired village of Shanghai State-owned Assets Management is Chushuizhai Village, Yuezhe Town, Qiubei County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province. In 2018, the leaders of the company led a team to have field research and truly understand the difficulties and troubles of the local poverty alleviation. In this year, the company formally signed an agreement on pairing of village enterprises with Chushuizhai Village, confirming the Three-Year Implementation Plan of "Double-hundred" Targeted Poverty Alleviation with Village Enterprises and the Joint Development of Party Construction. Focusing on the projects of love wardrobe, love book store, love supermarket, poverty alleviation through education, poverty alleviation through consumption, Party construction and so on, the company has carried out pairing work successively, combining poverty alleviation with supporting ambition and wisdom, and stimulating the endogenous power of local people.
With more than half a year's effort, the poverty alleviation has yielded positive results. Today, we are going to review the documentary of Chushuizhai Village's poverty alleviation.
In January 2019, the company organized its employees to carry out the "love wardrobe" clothing donation, donating a total of 376 pieces of clothing for the winter. Under the organization of the Chushuizhai Village Committee, the donated clothes were centrally displayed at the local "love wardrobe" site, and villagers could get them as needed.
In March 2019, the company organized employees to carry out “love book store” book donation activity and donated a total of 802 books, which were displayed in the "love book store" of Chushuizhai Village primary school.
In April 2019, the company organized the first phase of "love supermarket" donation, and purchased 80 categories and more than 310 boxes of goods and materials and delivered them to the local "love supermarket" in Chushuizhai Village. People who participate in daily social activities can have their points accumulated, and then exchange corresponding goods in the "love supermarket" against those points.
In May 2019, the company organized and launched the first phase of poverty alleviation through education, and awarded the first "Shanghai State-owned Assets Management Scholarship and Grants" to 40 poor children of Chushuizhai Village, including Yang Yingfu. The establishment of "Shanghai State-owned Assets Management Scholarship and Grants" aims to encourage local students in Chushuizhai Village to study hard and strive for success, so that they can contribute to the society and support their hometown in the future, especially for poor students who are excellent in character and learning.
In May 2019, the company carried out the first phase of poverty alleviation through consumption, and purchased a batch of unmarketable special agricultural products from the Chushuizhai Village, such as pumpkin seeds, wild eggs, dried pteridium aquilinum and small beans. By the end of 2020, the company plans a total of 8 stages of procurement of local agricultural and special products to help the poor people from the source, focusing on the urgent problem of difficulties in income increase and generation.
