Deputies to the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and members of the 13th CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee have recently been elected. Upon election by districts and troops in Shanghai, qualification examination and confirmation by the Standing Committee of the 14th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, 855 deputies to the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress were elected. Upon deliberation by the 39th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee, 822 members of the 13th CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee were confirmed.

Four executives of Shanghai International Group (SIG) were elected deputies to the new municipal people's congress or the new CPPCC municipal committee. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee was elected a deputy to the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress in Jing'an District (electorate); Fu Fan, President of SIG was elected a member (economic circles) of the 13th CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee; Huang Ping, General Manager of the Financial Management Department of SIG was elected a deputy to the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress in Hongkou District (electorate); and Zhou Lei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai State-owned Assets Operation Co., Ltd. was elected a deputy to the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress in Xuhui District (electorate).
