SIG Held First Plenary Session of 4th Employee Congress

On December 28, 2017, the first Plenary Session of the 4th Employee Congress of Shanghai International Group (SIG) was held. Shen Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIG; Fu Fan, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG; and Ding Xiaoyun, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee were present. Ma Haiyan, Member of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairwoman of the Labor Union presided over the meeting. Employee representatives in the group attended the meeting.

Representatives of the 4th Employee Congress of SIG, employee consultation representatives, members of the democratic management committee and members of the labor dispute mediation committee were elected. The Working Rules of the Employee Congress of Shanghai International Group Co., Ltd. were adopted upon deliberation.

Shen Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors delivered an important speech. Over the past five years, according to the decision and deployment of the municipal committee and government, the group has transformed into a state-owned capital operation platform operating efficiently in accordance with international rules, implemented the strategy of "dual-wheel drive" (state-owned capital operation and investment management), and made constant progress in reform and development, said him. Under the strong leadership of the group Party committee, the group employee congress has practically strengthened self construction, conducted democratic management while deepening the legal governance structure, and legally safeguarded employees' rights and interests, thus making positive contributions to group reform and development. The 19th CPC National Congress made overall arrangement for pressing ahead with the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the great project of Party building in the new era, and raised new requirements for grass-roots consultation and corporate democratic management. Facing the new situation and challenges, the group employee congress should give further play to its important role in safeguarding and developing employees' rights and interests and promoting the stable development of the enterprise, turn the power of employees into the impetus of group development, and constantly push forward group reform and development. Firstly, guided by the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the congress should implement the Party's theories guidelines and policies in work; secondly, with focus on the central tasks of group reform and development, the congress should improve the level of scientific and democratic decision making and management, to better serve employees and promote group development; thirdly, the congress should implement socialist core values, carry forward the corporate culture of democracy, legality, human orientation, steadiness and efficiency, and pool the positive energy of group development, unity and advancement; fourthly, the congress should play its role as a bridge linking the group to employees to create a favorable development pattern of co-building and sharing. Newly-elected employee representatives should enhance the awareness of learning, overall awareness and the awareness of duty performance, practically perform their duties, bring their role into play, and lead employees in becoming key group impellers.

The congress required that the new group employee congress should, under the leadership of the group Party committee, focus on central tasks, serve overall interests, implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, continue to play its important role in making public corporate affairs, implement the group's major strategies and decisions, embark upon a new journey with new achievements, and constantly push forward group reform and development.
