Gu Jianzhong Met Lord. Sasson, Chairman of the CBBC

On November 2nd, Mr. Gu Jianzhong, Vice President of SIG, met with Lord. Sasson, Chairman of China-Britain Business Council.

Mr. Gu Jianzhong extended a warm welcome to Lord. Sasson, and briefly introduced the history, positioning, structure and overseas business of SIG. He noted that SIG is currently focusing on it’s two major businesses, namely, capital operation and investment management, while also promoting that development of the financial factor market. Sailing Capital, a fund management company under SIG, is seeking to expand the overseas market, promoting internationalization of RMB through overseas investment. The economic and trade relations between China and UK is ever stronger, bringing about large potential for cooperation. SIG, as a state-owned capital operation platform which mainly serves Shanghai`s financial enterprises, will spare no effort in supporting its invested enterprises to expand business to the UK, and it helps more support and hopes more support could be available from the China-Britain Business Council.

Lord. Sasson said that since CBBC`s establishment 60 years ago, it has been devoted to the exchanges and cooperation between UK and China in economic and trade fields; it has been proactively participated in the high-level dialogue between the two countries` economic and financial sectors, building up a broad network as well as far-reaching influence among the governments and the enterprises of both sides.

He said that London is one of the most significant RMB transaction center and offshore RMB market, and the UK government will render full support to the internationalization of RMB. The China Britain business Council Will proactively support SIG`s invested enterprises to enlarge their presence in the UK in an act to expand their overseas business. Meanwhile, Lord. Sasson expressed expectation for closer mutual cooperation and greater achievements in the economic and trade sectors of the two countries.

The two parties also exchanged opinions on global economic situation and the environment to do business in Shanghai.

Attendees of the meeting also include Heads of SIG`s Capital and Operation Department, Investment and Management Department, Strategic Research Department, Financial Management Department, Risk and Compliance Department, Administration Department and Sailing Capital.
