On March 27th, 2013 Shanghai Democratic Management Transparency Meeting was held in Seagull Hotel. Ms. Yin Yicui, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipality, Director of Municipal People’s Congress, and Director of the Transparent Democratic Management Leadership Group, a group to promote the internal communication on crucial corporate events with employees in Shanghai state-owned enterprises, attended the meeting and delivered speech. The meeting was hosted by Hong Hao, Deputy Director of Municipal People’s Congress, Chairman of Shanghai Labor Union, and Vice Director of the Leadership Group. Shao Yaliang, President of SIG, and Ding Xiaoyun, Chairman of SIG Labor Union, participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the Leadership Group concluded its work in the past year, exchanged its experience, granted annual awards, and deployed its work plan for the next stage. As one of the two corporate speakers, Mr. Shao, representing SIG, conducted a speech themed “Harmony through transparent communication, development through cohesive collaboration”.
Ms. Yin Yicui commented that, the promotion of transparent democratic management needs to be more focused and deepened, based on the spirit of the 18th congress of Chinese Communist Party. Enterprises should constantly strengthen the impact of workers’ congress and their internal communication function, enhance the construction, widen the scope, and explore new contents and forms of the democratic management system. Corporations also need to create harmonious employment relationships associated with democratic management, comply to labor laws and regulations, improve compensation growth mechanism, enhance collective compensation negotiation practice and workers’ congress, and protect the rights of dispatched labor. She also stated that, in order to collectively improve the cause of transparent democratic management in Shanghai, both government and enterprises need to set up corresponding organizations, focus on coordination, enhance coaching, strengthen supervision and inspection, have a firm hold on new situations, and inspire innovation.
Shen Xiaoming, Deputy Mayor and Vice Director of the Transparent Democratic Management Leadership Group, read out the awards. SIG was granted the honors of “2011-2012 Shanghai Top 10 Transparent Companies in Democratic Management” and “May 1st Labor Award”, after recommendation of the Municipal Finance Labor Union and on-site inspection of the Municipal Labor Union. This is the first year of the Top 10 selection and the grant of “May 1st Labor Awards” to the selected companies.
