To further promote the great spirit of fighting the virus, pool strengths to forge ahead and motivate SIG's frontline anti-epidemic volunteers to continue playing their exemplary role, SIG held a seminar for frontline anti-epidemic volunteers on the afternoon of July 26. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; and Liu Xinyi, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG attended the seminar and delivered speeches. Wu Jun, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee, hosted the seminar. Present were the secretaries of the CPC SIG Committee and the CPC committees (Party branches) of SIG's subsidiaries, heads of the Organization Department and Office of the CPC SIG Committee, as well as heads of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office of SIG.
Since the current epidemic outbreak, at the call of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the CPC Committee of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, SIG's 17 volunteers immediately headed for where they were needed most, devoting themselves to community epidemic control. Through more than 40 days of painstaking efforts, they accomplished their mission and returned in triumph, demonstrating the strong sense of responsibility and great devolution of SIG's staff by action.
At the seminar, the leaders talked to the volunteers cordially, expressing heartfelt thanks to them. The 17 volunteers shared their reflections on and experience in frontline volunteer services. Joining the battle for the defense of Shanghai as volunteers and contributing to Shanghai's epidemic control on behalf of SIG is a mission and a glory as well, they said. During providing volunteer services, they enhanced their understanding of grass-roots work, sharpened their skills in overcoming difficulties and hardships in the frontline, and fostered fine work style. This is a rare life experience, as well as a great fortune that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
Liu spoke highly of the volunteers' spirit of standing out and charging ahead at the crucial moment and in the hour of peril.
Among these volunteers are post-70s and post-95 Party members and League members, said Liu. They made no terms, feared no perils, positively responded to the call of the organization, devoted themselves to the main fronts against the epidemic without hesitation, sacrificed personal interests for public good and contributed to the battle for the defense of Shanghai. They all represent outstanding executives and staff of SIG, and SIG is proud of them! He hoped that they would continue to carry forward their spirit displayed in volunteer services, meet various difficulties, challenges and tests with the indomitable spirit of fighting the epidemic, and contribute to the high-quality development of SIG.
On behalf of SIG's leading body, Yu extended the highest respects and sincerest thanks to the volunteers that forged ahead against the epidemic.
Yu thanked them for standing out at the crucial moment when they were called upon by the organization, the society had great expectations for them and people were in trouble, to contribute to Shanghai's epidemic control; thanked them for forging ahead in harm's way and living up to the great trust to accomplish the glorious mission; and thanked them for winning glory for SIG under the grim epidemic situation.
Yu noted that we should learn what were discussed at the seminar, promote the volunteers' strong sense of responsibility of standing out, active political pursuit and great devotion in SIG, and tell SIG's stories of fighting the epidemic, said Yu. He hoped that the volunteers would further play their exemplary role, carry forward the spirit of fighting the epidemic, apply in future work their spirit formed, experience accumulated and style tempered in the battle for the defense of Shanghai, focus on the overall development of Shanghai and SIG, make new contributions to SIG's efforts in promoting high-quality development more efficiently and vigorously amid regular epidemic control, and push forward the implementation of the spirit of the 12th CPC Shanghai Municipal Congress.
At the seminar, the attendees watched the volunteer promotion video: Go Where We Are Needed Most, to recall the volunteers' stories of sticking to posts during epidemic control. SIG's leaders awarded each volunteer a commemorative medal for heroes in harm's way.
