At 10:00 a.m. October 16, the 20th CPC National Congress opened at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a report to the congress on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee. The CPC SIG Committee has attached great importance to studying and promoting the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Members of SIG's leading body and heads of departments watched the opening session of the congress at Conference Room 208, Shanghai International Group Mansion live. All subsidiaries of SIG organized members of SIG's leading body and heads of departments to watch the opening session in their respective offices. As required by epidemic control, most of SIG's Party members watched the opening session at home via TV, the Internet and other media.

The report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the congress is a programmatic guideline for the construction of the Party and the country in the new era. It proposed that from this day forward, the central task of the CPC would be to lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a concerted effort to realize the Second Centenary Goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. SIG's Party members were greatly inspired by the General Secretary's report, saying that they would study and implement the report thoroughly, unify their thoughts and actions on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, stick to their posts, stay true to their original aspiration and mission, focus on serving major national and municipal strategies, accelerate the building of a financial holding group, enhance its function as a state capital investment and operation platform, keep improving the capabilities of investment and business management, and guide high-quality development by high-quality Party building, thereby making new and greater contributions to building Shanghai into "five centers" and deepening the reform of state capital and state-owned enterprises.
